- Sensing: The DSP detects that the mains voltage has dropped below the safe threshold (e.g., 180V).
- Switching: It triggers the MOSFETs on the control card to switch from “Mains Mode” to “Battery Mode” in less than 10 milliseconds (msec).
- Pulse Width Modulation (PWM): The card calculates the exact timing required to convert DC from the battery into AC. It uses PWM to create a stepped signal that filters into a pure sine wave.
- Regulation: If you turn on a heavy load (like a laser printer), the DSP immediately senses the voltage dip and increases the “width” of the pulses to maintain a steady 230V output.
