The 160R4__2 Luminous Sine Wave Microcontroller IC is primarily used in Luminous brand Inverters (UPS). This IC acts as the “brain” of the inverter, controlling the entire system’s operations.
What does this IC do?
Its main function inside the inverter is to convert the DC current from the battery back into AC current (Pure Sine Wave) so that your home appliances, like fans and lights, can run smoothly.
A Simple Example
Imagine the power goes out at your home:
Detection: As soon as the power cuts, this IC senses it instantly.
Switching: The IC starts drawing power from the battery and converts it into a Pure Sine Wave output.
Protection: If you put too much load on the inverter (Overload), this IC shuts down the system to prevent the machine from burning out.
Display: The indicator lights on the front of the inverter (Mains On, Battery Low, Charging) are also controlled by this IC.
